Murcia Mayor and Chairman of the Finance Committee of Local Finance and Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, Miguel Angel House, today expressed satisfaction in knowing that municipalities have closed the first quarter of 2013 with a surplus of 2,338 million euros, almost double the previous year's positive result.

The municipalities have fulfilled the purposes amply marked to balance their accounts and contribute to economic recovery and job creation.
Of the 8,115 municipalities, 3,457 surplus achieved last year, the government will spend on sustainable investments.
By contrast, the 518 municipalities -64 of them with more than 2,000 inhabitants, posing significant financial difficulties may benefit from a plan of extraordinary measures and strict.
Regarding budgetary stability objectives and debt 2014-2016, the agreement reached in the CNAL expects to record a zero deficit in the next three years, "which makes us more demanding management and reflects our commitment to the country's competitiveness "said House.
