Intervention measures:

Application to the users most vulnerable older than 80 years who live alone / as and which, without being, have suffered an emergency as a result of extreme temperatures:

Applying a symptom detection protocol against extreme temperatures and intervention for first aid station personnel and mobile units.

Installing safety devices in the homes of users / as most vulnerable to extreme temperatures.

In the municipality of Murcia 153 devices were installed to increase the safety of the users.

To strengthen the monitoring of the service users, both through calls from the Central Municipal Telecare Service as personal visits made by Homecare Intervention Services, Area Coordination departments, and Mobile Units Installation and Maintenance Technicians .

Provide mobile units with special equipment to mitigate the effects that the cold can have on the health of the / as user / as service: Pills isotonic or cold packs.

Caring people most vulnerable users have contact with key, primarily those found in the medium and high risk.

Balance on the service last year

From Central Telecare 9,288 calls were handled in which it had an impact on the recommendations to be followed in extreme temperatures.

Four cases were directly related to the high temperatures, in one case it was necessary to transfer to hospital for care.
