The installation of 11 new relief Campillo Park becomes one of the most important sculptural spaces Spain (14/06/2013)

The works, which have been donated to the city by the legatee of Campillo, Juan Perez Ferra, who thus fulfills the will of the author, are cast in bronze and have dimensions ranging between 1,64 X0, 46 meters and 1.40 x1 .00 meters.

The total value of these projects reached 200,000.

Negotiations for the park expansion began after the inauguration of the space in November 2010, seeing that aroused the interest of many Murcia, art lovers and journals, while becoming major attraction for tourists visiting the city .

The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara held, "these works, whose artistic value and importance is sufficiently proved, the sculptor wanted to pay homage to the ancient crafts of the city and the garden and recognize the history and traditions Murcia".

Great artistic quality

So far, the Sculpture Park and Antonio Campillo had nine sculptures, together with a splendid portrait of the sculptor in bronze, the work of his disciple, Marta Balmaseda.

Among the works that make up the current park are typical teacher representations on women Campillo Murcia, in bronze by a foundry in Madrid.

The pieces have dimensions ranging between 1.35 and 2.10 meters.

The author himself named each of his creations with names such as The Locust, The Cansera, Tribute to Women Murcia, Braving the wind or Coscaletas.

The importance of these pieces lies in the artistic quality of each selected by Antonio Campillo as examples of his sculptural.

All are cataloged and have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Spain and abroad.

The installation of the new reliefs can provide the city of one of the most important public sculpture parks in the national scene, both for its size and with its quality, with a total of 21 works by the author.
