The University of Murcia Convalescence signed an agreement with the Panamanian Institute for Special (IPHE) to the joint in educational research activities, training and advice.
The IPHE will collaborate with the Center for Disability Studies and Promotion of Personal Autonomy (DIPAP) Murcia University, under the Vice President for Strategic Development and Training, led by Professor Fernando Martin, driver of the agreement.
Nuria Illan, director of DIPAP mentioned that this Centre since its inception a year ago, has taken steps to "bring other countries the knowledge of the University of Murcia and transfer what we do from here on behalf of persons with disabilities."
The deputy director of the Panamanian Institute, Delgado Ana Arruda, said the IPHE is a "state institution whose mission is to develop inclusive educational activities for children and youth with special needs due to a disability."
The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, spoke of the particular sensitivity of the educational institution to disability issues and recalled that the University of Murcia, after the UNED, the first in Spain in number of students with disabilities.
