The Full Council of Murcia, which meets this morning approved a joint motion municipal groups of PP, PSOE, IU and UPyD order to fight against homophobia and transphobia.

The text is as follows:

MANIFESTO AGAINST Homophobia AND

TRANSPHOBIA

On May 17, we celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

Only 23 years ago the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses and, despite the efforts made and the changes made, we continue to fight against those who oppress the freedom that is expressed in Article 14 of our Constitution which states that "the Spanish are equal before the law without any discrimination on grounds of birth, race, sex, religion, opinion or any other condition or personal or social circumstance".

We want to remain speaker of this society to communicate that there is no homophobia in our schools and that public authorities have an obligation to make every effort to eradicate these behaviors that only serve to muddy the personal growth of our youth.

There is no homophobia in our streets or in our neighborhoods, and in our parishes.

We acknowledge the work of LGBT associations throughout history and asked, with youth associations and other groups that do not cease their efforts because without doubt this will be more just society if we eliminate any discriminatory act.

This year is dedicated to sexual and gender diversity in youth, focusing more than ever on our youth to not suffer in the same way that other generations did.

Eradicate Phobia LGBT (lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual) is the mission of all of us in this society.

Administrations are responsible for ensuring the constitutional mandate expressed in Article 14 of the Constitution.

Therefore, from the City Council of Murcia, as a public institution, we renew our commitment to work for a more equal and more just, not only firmly rejecting and condemning attitudes and manifestations involving homophobia and transphobia, but also using policies municipalities to promote our city, from different areas, friendly policies towards equal treatment of LGBT group, and encouraging the consolidation and legal and social recognition of the full equality of rights and opportunities.

That is why, aware of further progress in this area, the City Council of Murcia Spain requests the Government to take the necessary measures in all areas of society to ensure to all persons equal and effective enjoyment of the rights Human and ensure the prevention and protection against homophobia and transphobia.

To all those who fight against LGBT Phobia follow the path because there is still much to do.
