The power of the bicycle as a tool to "reinvent life" is the focus of the intervention has been the Mayor of Murcia and president of the Spanish Network of Cities for Bicycle, Miguel Angel House, World Congress of Cities and Territories Cycling taking place in Nice, organized by the Metropolitan Nice Côte d'Azur.
Mayor participates in a plenary session tomorrow to address the situation of the bicycle and its potential to become a tool to help reinvent life.
Along with House, mayors and leaders share the stage of transport and mobility policies of cities in France, United States, Japan, Mexico, Poland, China, Colombia, Italy and Belgium.
Specifically, this session will be on Rex Burkholder, community advisory Portland area (USA), Enrique Jacoby, president of the Network of the Americas Ciclovías and consultant to the WHO Pan American in Washington, Simon Compaoré, Mayor 1995-2012 Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Ruth Lopez Perez, a researcher of the Center for Mexican and Central / CEMCA-MAE/CNRS (Mexico), Maciej Lisicki, Deputy Mayor of Transportation in Gdansk, and Masashi Mori, Mayor of Toyama (Japan).
The papers in this session address issues such as what actions locally in the cities of Europe, America, Asia, and Africa can drive to promote cycling, cycling which national policies are being made now or what policies can lead out for the development of the bike, thinking globally and acting locally.
