Presentation of the Congress Bureau of Tourism students of the UCAM (29/05/2013)

The Convention Bureau City of Murcia has participated in the conference on MICE tourism (conferences, events and meetings) in Murcia organized in collaboration with the Tourism Degree UCAM.

The Councillor for Tourism, Miguel Cascales, opened the day by the Deputy Dean of Degree of Tourism UCAM Ginesa Martinez, the manager of the Convention Bureau City of Murcia, Ramón Palazón, and President of the Association of Partners Collaborating Convention Bureau City of Murcia, president of the Consortium for the Advancement of Murcia hotel and hotel manager Arco de San Juan, Jesus Pacheco.

Cascales has stressed the importance of publicizing congress tourism students as a career, and recalled that this sector creates jobs, encourages consumption and trade and simultaneously produces significant income.

In 2011, meetings were held with 148 797 1,113 enrollees, with an economic impact of 31 million euros.

The Convention Bureau was launched in 1998, promoted by the Department of Tourism with the objective of providing support for the holding of conferences, events and meetings in our town and make congress Murcia city.

Its main task is to work to attract events, develop specific dossiers municipality information and infrastructure, and arrange visits for operators to know the values ​​that provides Murcia, among many other things.

In addition, this Office, which was the first in Spain to get the Q for Quality, has the support of the Association of Members Collaborating Convention Bureau, composed of officials from hotels, restaurants, corporate events and other services business, involving all the Tourism Conference.
