The National Police arrested three suspects in the murder of the Dutch couple disappeared on May 17 (27/05/2013)

National Police agents have arrested three suspected Murcia murderers of Dutch citizens Lodewijk Ingrid Visser and Severin, whose disappearance had been reported last May 17.

All arrests have occurred in the city of Valencia, the first one on Saturday and the remaining two at noon today.

The remains were found in buried last night in a farm in the village of Murcia Stables.

The characteristics of the bodies found correspond to Ingrid Visser and Lodewijk Severin, although confirmation of this point will be made public when they get the results of measures of identification being carried out.

The investigation began in the time you became aware of the disappearance of the two Dutch citizens.

The first investigation allowed us to prove that the missing were staying at a hotel in Murcia, where they had been last seen on the afternoon of Monday May 13.

During their stay, they used a rental car that was found by police on May 22 on a central street in Murcia.

The efforts around the vehicle allowed check that had been parked there for the disappeared the afternoon of his disappearance.

From the first moment and the circumstances that accompanied this disappearance, were activated international police cooperation mechanisms and protocol for missing persons, while urging an investigation aimed at locating missing.

These points were communicated to the Court of Instruction No. 7 Murcia, which opened preliminary proceedings and ordered the secrecy of the proceedings.

Violent episode in a house in Molina de Segura (Murcia)

At first the researchers considered several hypotheses, which were led back to one last Friday when they reported data indicating the possibility that the missing had gone to a house located in the town of Molina de Segura.

The inspection in this place allowed researchers to see that there had been a violent episode, presumably related to the disappearance of Dutch citizens.

It was also found that in this house had been the three people who were eventually arrested.

The data were obtained from this and other ongoing efforts, yielded sufficient evidence to justify the arrest of a Spanish man aged 36 who was considered directly related to the disappearance.

The arrest took place in the city of Valencia on Saturday May 25.

Discovery of the bodies

At the same time, the development of the investigation led the officers to the location of an orchard, located in the village of Murcia Stables, where the bodies could have been buried.

At 22.00 hours on Sunday May 26, were found the remains of two people, who were later transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine of Murcia.

The research offered new results at 13.00 am today, when we proceeded to the arrest of two men of Romanian nationality, 47 and 60 years old respectively, which is considered directly related to the disappearance and murder investigated.

These arrests have taken place also in the city of Valencia.

The characteristics of the bodies found seem to indicate that it is the Ingrid Visser and Lodewijk Severin, although confirmation of this point will be made public when communicating officially the result of measures of identification being carried out.

The three detainees will be brought before the Magistrate's Court in Valencia Guard functions as soon as completed the steps that are being carried out at this time.
