PSOE and IU-Greens Seek in Parliament a reorganization of pedestrian crossings in the Barrio del Carmen (26/05/2013)

The two political groups pose a joint motion asking the City Council for a study based on the report by architect Enrique de Andres to redesign the main streets of the Barrio del Carmen in order to facilitate mobility and promote business activities

The municipal groups PSOE and Izquierda Unida-Greens at the next plenary pose a joint motion demanding a reordering of crosswalks Barrio del Carmen to facilitate the mobility of pedestrians and promote business activities.

The councilmen Jose Zapata (PSOE) and Ignacio Tornel (IU-Greens) based its proposal on a study by urban architect Enrique de Andres which contains some gaps in the main streets of the Barrio del Carmen in comparison to the main roads in other areas city ​​toward the Plaza Circular.

Thus, both bands emphasize that, according to that report, in the section that goes from Plaza Circular Plaza Martinez Tornel are 17 pedestrian crossings in a total distance of 868 meters from the bridge while the Dangers to the square Engineer la Cierva (Roll station) there are only 7 steps along 860 meters. "

For both municipal groups is proposed a simple solution to implement a low cost and with very slight and would impact on improving journeys on foot by Carmen neighborhood and help to businesses in the area.

By last, PSOE and IU-Greens also requested in his motion that takes into account the proposals of the architect Enrique de Andres to improve Camachos Square.
