Vocational Training Students Hall presents the work they have done during the course (21/05/2013)

Students of Vocational Training Program of the City of Murcia hold an Open Day to present the work done during the course at the Center for Training and Employment Initiatives of the Department of Employment, Trade and Enterprise has in Palmar.

Some 120 young people attending any of the specialty plumbing, HVAC, electrical, welding, metal construction, automotive, commercial, kitchen, hair and beauty show the work they perform and carry out a practical demonstration of what they have learned.

The course ends in July with the completion of 150 hours of training in companies in the municipality.

The Initial Vocational programs are aimed at young people aged 16 to 20 who drop out of secondary school without qualifications and are designed to provide basic and vocational training to enable them to re-enter the educational system, while obtaining Vocational Qualifications Level I, in the professional profile which have formed.

Since 1992, 1,700 students have been trained in 54 different trades.

In addition to entering the labor market, the aim is for young people to continue their education.

Last year, between 42 and 61% of students continued their studies.
