The Socialist Party calls Murcia dedicate a street or public building to José Luis Sampedro (26/04/2013)

The Socialist councilor Mar Rosa has asked the full City Council to consider baptize one of its streets, squares and public buildings writer, intellectual and economist, José Luis Sampedro, who died on April 8.

Mar Rosa highlights the "exemplary career of José Luis Sampedro over a lifetime of commitment to advocating a more humane, more caring, more just, able to develop the dignity of the people."

The Socialist councilor notes that Sampedro was a member of the Spanish Royal Academy and in 2010 the Council of Ministers was awarded the Order of Arts and Letters of Spain for his "outstanding literary work and thought committed to the problems of his time ".

So says the PSOE councilor, Sampedro has been one of the key figures of the twentieth century and as such deserves a tribute by remembering his name Murcia in a city.

"We hope to be studied by the City in the commission of streets and is approved as they will do cities like Madrid or Alicante" concludes Mar Rosa.
