A new conservation plan parkland preserve the image of the eight unique garden city (24/04/2013)

Over 900,000 square meters of parkland gardens set up the historic and unique city, for which the Department of Environment, led Adela Martinez-Cache, has designed a special treatment plan that respects and enhances its particular characteristics .

The Department of Environment has addressed comprehensive plan to these eight gardens, which will give a follow to keep them in optimal condition while it retains its own character.

They each have a single service, led by a city engineer, given its variety of flora and their locations.

Adela Martinez-Cache, accompanied by responsible council, made this morning a visit to the Chinese Garden and the Silk and Salitre, to check the status of the flowerbeds, plants and trees, with the purpose of making timely interventions with a particular perspective in each case, taking into account the peculiarities of these green areas.

The total area covered by this work is of 906,603 meters, spread over these eight gardens in the city:

· 12,913 meters square Floridablanca

· Chinese Garden 24,595 m2

· Salitre 27,757 m

· The Silk 29,500 m

• Santa Isabel 3,131 m

· Malecon 42,503 m

· Garden-Garden Lopez Ferrer 4,204 m

· San Antonio 762 m

When visiting the Chinese Garden, the technicians have pointed out the need to replace lawns for ground cover and shrubs.

It also will create a zone in the pergola shaded area to expand the area to stay and prolong for more months.

Moreover, it is proceeding to refinish banks.

In the area of ​​the sculpture installed outside the Palace of Justice has removed the trees in poor condition in order to highlight the work of Antonio Campillo.

All around were planted orange trees and ground cover species at ground level.

As Salitre gardens and silk continue improvements around change and replacement of trees, installation of rubber in playgrounds and replanting of ground cover.
