"The most common are cybercrime scam through email" (22/04/2013)

"The most common are cybercrime scam via e-mail" and have stated Felix Lopez and Francisco Javier Díez, Crimes Team members Telematics Civil Guard and agents of this body, at the conference "Computer Crimes" who have given this afternoon at the Catholic University of Murcia UCAM, organized by the Criminology degree.

The speakers spoke on the methods of action of cybercriminals and most common computer crime on the Internet.

The Civil Guard officers in charge of the paper pointed out that apart from scams through email or on the web purchases are also common crimes related to child pornography.

Also, the speakers stressed that victims of cybercriminals tend to be random and, especially in the crimes of fraud, "is the very victim who chooses to itself", to fall into the trap that the offender has sent so mass email to thousands of potential victims.

Furthermore, cooperation among countries is needed to curb cyber crime and that perpetrators of such crimes often operate from countries other than the victims.

Finally, Felix Lopez and Francisco Javier Díez have highlighted the importance of reporting crimes committed on the Internet if as users we find any of them surfing the net or come directly to our email.
