The Murcia Tourist Card is renewed to offer a more agile (22/04/2013)

The Department of Tourism Murcia Tourist board renews Card, incorporating a microchip to provide a more modern Serbian, agile and fully computerized.

With this new system, the customer need not identified in any of the partner establishments because the microchip is all the information.

It also generates instant statistical control users.

From this moment, the cards may be sold also in the hotels in the city, providing visitors purchase.

Murcia Tourist Card is a tool that allows visitors to take advantage of ticket discounts at museums and buildings of interest and plenty of leisure facilities, hotels and shops.

The card was launched in August, with hundreds of stores attached, and now have joined more than twenty business.

The card is available for 24, 48 or 72 hours, and allows free admission to local museums of Murcia, Murcia Casino, Aquarium of the University of Murcia and Museum housed.

It features discounts on Terra Natura, Teatro Circo Murcia, Romea Theatre and Auditorium and Congress Center Victor Villegas.

Likewise, persons holding the card will have discounts of between 5 and 20% in a hundred eateries, fashion, footwear, accessories, etc..

In the cafeteria of the English Court, presenting the Murcia Tourist Card, you get a tapa and glass of wine.

The participating establishments include electrostatic adhesive stickers 15x15 cm in which you can read in Spanish and English 'Murcia Tourist Card benefits, payee', to differentiate the shops easily.

The Murcia Tourist Card can be purchased online on the website of the Department, with a discount of 5% on the official price, in the Tourist Office in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga and now in hotels in the municipality.

There are many hotels in the city that have incorporated their card packages and offer it with their deals hotel nights.

The price is 24 hour card is 12 euros for adults and 4 euros for children, the 48 hours it costs 18 euros for adults and 6 for children, and 72 hours is priced at 21 euros for adults and 8 euros for children.

The card design is modern, innovative and attractive with high quality images, so that visitors can keep the card as a souvenir of their passage through Murcia.

Along with the card, buyers will receive a brochure which specifies the discounts and establishments involved in this program.

This initiative is part of Murcia Tourism Promotion Plan 365 which aims to improve tourism in the city and attract visitors throughout the year.

19,000 people visit the Tourist Offices at parties

About 19,000 people visited the municipal tourist offices (square Belluga and Santa Clara Street) during Easter and Spring Festival.

This is an increase of 17.82% over the number of tourists last year, which was 16,120 people.

The day was registered more visitors this year was Holy Thursday, with 2,227 people, a 68.07% increase over last year, who went through the office 1,325 people.

The days that more tourists have been recorded have been: Holy Thursday (2,227 people), Holy Tuesday (2,189 people), Good Friday (1800 visitors), Holy Wednesday (1,579 tourists) and Monday April 1 (1,544 people).

In 2012 the days that more number of tourists was recorded were: Easter Saturday (1,710 people), Holy Wednesday (1,664 tourists), Holy Saturday (1,523 visitors), Maundy Thursday (1,325 people) and Wednesday, the day after the Edict of Huerta, (1,272 tourists).
