Murcia City Council continues its commitment to tourism and industry conferences, meetings and events to create jobs and wealth.
The Council has given approval to the collaboration with the Association of Supportive members of the convention bureau, composed of companies from hospitality, tourism and services.
The Convention Bureau, under the Department of Tourism of the City of Murcia, is responsible for the promotion of Murcia to host congresses, conventions and incentives.
This entity has gone from managing 356 meetings with 54,793 attendees in 1997, to 148 797 1,113 registered meetings in 2011, the year generating an economic impact of 31 million euros.
It is the first Convention Bureau Spain who won the Q of Quality in 2005 - and his work has been recognized by the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia in 2003 with a special tribute to Mercury awards aimed at Tourism Promotion Association Members Collaborating Murcia Convention Bureau.
The Convention Bureau is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary with net working sessions, meetings with the University School of Tourism of the UMU, the degree UCAM Tourism and Hospitality and Tourism Department of IES La Flota, day dedicated to the sector professional photo competition.
