School for more than 450 students learn to recycle (10/04/2013)

The Recycling School educational project has come to school, Jesuitinas, Murcia, in order that students can learn about the process of recycling of electrical and electronic equipment and its environmental benefits.

Education Councilwoman Maria Dolores Sanchez, this morning visited the School Recycling mobile classroom, which is organized by AMBILAMP, RECYCLIA, TRAGAMÓVIL And ECOPILAS.

In addition, this project, which is traveling, reach 130 centers throughout Spain during this school year, with 25,000 students, of which 20 schools are in Murcia, with more than 2,200 students and faculty visits to the region.

Education Councilwoman recalled the commitment of the City of Murcia with educating younger on recycling and the environment, as evidenced by their collaboration with the School Recycling.

Jose Perez, CEO of Recyclia Council, added that "We believe that the acculturation and youth training is essential not only to generate environmentally correct habits, but also to act as prescribers of their parents and thereby contribute to increasing our levels of waste collection "

School Recycling is a mobile classroom of 120 m2 built into a truck.

Inside the vehicle, visitors have audiovisual-touch screens, video projections and a 3D animation film.

Students will learn about how to recycle light bulbs, batteries, cell phones, computers, toys and small appliances.

In addition, the training provided in the mobile classroom is complemented by two other educational projects: Train the Trainer-aimed at teachers who will transmit the information to their students and thereby contribute to their environmental awareness-and E-learning-from which provides teachers and school material to enable them to expand their knowledge of recycling.

Recycling School began in November 2011 and so far more than 40,000 students and over 1,400 teachers in 10 Autonomous Communities-Galicia, Castilla la Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Basque Country, Navarra, Madrid, Aragon, La Rioja and Murcia have visited the mobile classroom.

After completing the course 2013-2014, 400,000 students and 18,900 teachers have known this project.

This educational project is organized by: AMBILAMP, Association for the recycling of lamps and luminaires, which includes light bulbs, fluorescent, discharge lamps, and LED lighting retrofit; TRAGAMÓVIL, created to collect mobile phone; ECOPILAS, Integrated System for the collection of portable batteries and batteries and RECYCLIA Platform, which includes the previous two.

In 2012 AMBILAMP has collected and managed transport for recycling of 2,246 tonnes of saving bulbs and tubes in Spain.

TRAGAMÓVIL has collected and managed transport for recycling of 461,844 pounds of moving across the country, and has collected and managed ECOPILAS transport for recycling of 3,006,674 pounds of batteries in Spain.
