The Socialist Group is concerned at the refusal of the owners of the project Carrascoy 'Country Owl (27/03/2013)

The Socialist councilor Susana Hernandez today expressed concern over the critical voices emerged around the project 'The Owl Country' made public in recent days.

So Hernandez refers to the information of the City of Fuente Alamo might abandon the bid, and the letter from the Homeowners Association Carrascoy UNESCO to show its "firm opposition" to the initiative that seeks the declaration of Biosphere Reserve for natural protected regional park Carrascoy-El Valle, in addition to Monte El Valle and Altaona saws and Escalona.

"We have supported this project from the beginning because we believe it can be positive for Murcia and generate added value to the socioeconomic development of the area. Addition-added-PSOE mayor gave our vote of confidence that could be used to correct the excesses urban but we fear that the nomination was hastily organized.

In fact, Hernandez recalls that the Socialist Party asked in writing on 14 February at the head of the Environment, Adela Martinez-Cachá, to meet with the owners of the area before the doubts generated by the project owners farms and ranches in the area.

From the Socialist Group lament the apparent lack of information generated by this rejection of the Homeowners Association and urge the PP Carrascoy that although the nomination has already given them more information and conduct meetings with owners to address concerns that have arisen on this project.

Finally, Hernandez recalls remaining to receive the information by the council on the economic cost of outreach and publicity for the project 'The Owl Country'.

"We fear that, once again, instead of raising awareness among affected and encourage citizen participation, we have opted for the simple marketing," he concludes.
