The Socialist Group will continue to raise initiatives to create jobs in Murcia (22/03/2013)

Councilman Juan Patricio Castro said yesterday during the course of the Parliament that the Socialists would propose mechanisms to combat unemployment, despite the continuing negative municipal PP continues to remain impassive, while unemployment is in the town of 45,920 people figure

The mayor Juan Patricio Castro confirmed that the Socialist Group proposed initiatives will continue to fight unemployment in the municipality "because the city of Murcia can do much more than what you are doing to overcome the crisis and create jobs."

In this sense, Castro reiterated yesterday during the course of the Parliament that will make proposals to foster job creation.

"This should be the top priority of the PP in La Glorieta, especially considering that unemployment is already 45 920 people in the town and according to the figures there are 270 new unemployed in February compared to January, which means that in this months every day 13 people lose their jobs in Murcia ".

The municipal-PP regrets the socialist mayor continues to reject our proposals against unemployment, without explanation justifying its refusal realistic and with so little serious arguments as that employment is competition from other administrations.

According to Castro, the local government's attitude is not justified any longer that the municipalities can implement mechanisms to create jobs through investments.

Thus, the socialist mayor put back on the table the plan 5/5/5, with which would create around 1,000 direct jobs each year, that is to devote 5% of the budget of the Consistory to 5 programs against unemployment while the unemployment rate exceeds 5% of the population of Murcia.

This new plan, Castro insists consist of five specific programs: training and qualification of unemployed, research, development and innovation in SMEs, rehabilitation and upgrading of the historical and artistic heritage, as well as neighborhoods degraded road infrastructure and transport, the environment and natural spaces.

"While unemployment bleeding continued and worsened further see the Rajoy government policies, especially with labor reform, the main priority of the City Council should be to respond to the main problem of the citizens and not keep throwing balls out or not out with them, "he concludes.
