Libraries have always participated in the development of workers by promoting literacy for youth and adults.
Today, with a complex labor market, libraries are asked to do even more in this area.
Brooklyn Public Library, in the United States, has responded to this call by creating innovative programs, strategic alliances and user-centered practices that promote the formation of youth and workers, and community and economic development.
On Thursday March 21, at 18:30 am in the Auditorium of the School of Communication and Information, Kerwin Pilgrim deliver the lecture "Developing stories, build communities: Public library services for youth in Brooklyn jobseekers and employers ", which will address the challenges, initiatives and progress of this library to transform the conversation about the role and relevance of libraries.
The event will be presented by Judith Licea de Arenas, Professor of Library Science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and for the same will be held consecutive translation.
