The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, last night chaired the event organized by the Federation of Senior Citizens Centres Municipality of Murcia for the election and coronation of Senior Queen 2013 and her four bridesmaids.
With the mayor and the election candidates, attended the meeting the Deputy Mayor of Health and Social Welfare, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, Councilwoman Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, the Senior General Manager, Enrique Pérez Abellán, and President of the Federation of Senior Centers, Simon Párraga Martinez.
After a close vote by the jury, was proclaimed Queen of the 2013 Major Nicholas Carmen Vidal, representative of the municipal center of Santiago El Mayor, who will be accompanied throughout the year for their four bridesmaids: Antonia Hernandez Guerrero, La Arboleja (1st lady), Maria Ferrer Asensio, Puebla de Soto (2nd), Ana Maria Martinez Garcia of The Ranero (3rd) and Maria Dolores Luna, San Miguel (4th).
In this new edition has presented 30 candidates, then two more, who attended the day together, could not participate in the election last night for different reasons, associated with senior centers in their respective neighborhoods and districts.
Starting today and throughout the year, the five players will have their activities of the largest in the municipality, whether festivals, cultural weeks, etc.
The dinner, held at Restaurante La Torre, Bacons Bridge, attracted over 600 people.
Before starting the meal, the 30 candidates held a parade down the catwalk, installed in the lounge, and the City Council received a badge that was imposed by the Mayor.
