Three retired firefighters who dedicated his life to public service are the gold badge from Mayor (08/03/2013)

Coinciding with the feast of St. John of God, patron of Service Firefighting and Rescue.

During last year made more than 4,000 services, some as relevant as the intervention after the explosion at the factory in Javalí Old Gunpowder or redemption of some children in a fire at his home in El Palmar.

Yesterday had to intervene in a fire in a house whose owner died Beniaján.

A Mass in the Cathedral and an event attended by the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, were the events held to mark the feast of St John of God, patron service workers and Rescue Firefighting Hall of Murcia.

At the same council also attended Safety and Human Resources, Nuria Fuentes.

Three names have stood above them all.

This is Sergeant Joaquín Vicente Sanchez-after more than 38 years of service-Corporal Abellán Benito Perez-joined the staff in January 1976 - and Firefighter-conductor Andrés Martínez-Latorre on staff since 1979 - who have received the Corps Gold Badge for his recent retirement.

Throughout the past year, the 4040 SEIS services performed, of which almost half were fires (1888).

He also made 457 saves, 542 technical assistance (bilge water discharges neutralization, ruins and subsidence, shoring, falling branches, etc..) And 1153 attended inspections (reviews, reports, prevention, etc..).

Currently working in the Service of Fire Fighting and Rescue 210 people, with the support of 4 other employees as support staff.

In total there is 1 service chief, 2 officers, 6 non-commissioned officers, 12 sergeants, 30 corporals, 105 firemen, 45 drivers, nine operators, one technical sport, 1 chief of bureau of administration and two administrative assistants.

As for the material, the service has a fleet of 36 vehicles, of which 9 are pumpers urban, 3 rural pumpers, 3 autoescaleras, 2 arms, 2 polisocorros, 4 tanks, 11 light and 2 trailers.

Explosion in Powder Factory in Old Javalí.

Burns a factory warehouse to 12,000 kilos of gunpowder explode.

The roof flew off the ship at the time of the blast walls remaining intact.

The column of smoke was as high about 20 meters high.

Involved 18 firefighters across six envelopes and there was only property damage.

Gas explosion at home in Murcia Arrixaca street.

One person had to be met as a result of the gas leak explosion in a house in the street Arrixaca.

The blast caused one of the front walls fell to the street and one to the house itself, moving furniture and appliances.

Involved 18 firefighters and up to eight vehicles.

There was extensive damage and one person was treated for bruises.

House Fire in El Palmar.

Two children 3 and 5 years were rescued alive from a fire that occurred in a house in the neighborhood of Los Rosales of El Palmar.

The fire and smoke spread quickly from the kitchen to the living room, forced firefighters to intervene quickly to rescue two children were alone in the bedroom of the house.

Although the fire took place on the ground floor, the flames reached up to the third floor.

Involved 15 firefighters and up to four vehicles.

Children who were treated for smoke inhalation at the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca firefighters met a few days later.

Rescue of a person inside a garbage truck in Murcia.

It requires the presence of fire by the garbage collection service that detects the presence of a person inside the truck after collecting organic waste container located in the street of San Anton in Murcia.

Murcia waterspout matches a fire in a warehouse in the Cabezo de Torres.

More than two hundred performances in just a few hours took firefighters in check.

The fire of a ship with dangerous products that reacted with water coincided with the performance in the Green Reguerón Sangonera to rescue a person who was inside a car submerged in water that had been swept away by the strong current.

Firefighters had to dive to reach the vehicle and to get the body of the person to bring it to shore.
