The University of Murcia will host for the first time the act Laurel Awards to the employment of people with intellectual disabilities FEAPS granted Murcia, the federation of organizations in favor of this group.

As part of the collaboration of two entities, the event will be held in the auditorium of the University Social Centre (campus Espinardo) tomorrow, Wednesday, March 6, at 12:00.

The Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the University of Murcia works with FEAPS to give continuity to these awards, they reach their eighteenth edition and recognize the contribution of companies and institutions that somehow help people with disabilities to form or get a job.

There are categories ranging from direct contracting to purchase products or services from Special Employment Centres.

The associations that drive these services are those that have been proposed to the winners of this year: Leroy Merlin, Hospitality Services Jose Diaz, AZUD, and Bodegas Molina Hospital-Central Carchelo Quesera Montesinos.

MAPFRE FOUNDATION receive the Laurel Institutional proposed set of the federation for their support to the program 'Together we can'.

Having workers with intellectual disabilities and support their partnerships is a form of Corporate Social Responsibility, increasingly valued by the business environment.

And with economic incentives arranged by the Administration, is doubly advantageous.

So the RSC Chair supports public recognition of employers who have opted for these workers, which is a sign of social commitment and values.

The RSC Chair comes from the commitment of the University with businesses and organizations in promoting research in all topics related to CSR.

Among them, the social vocation in finding a balance between economic and social development.

Among its objectives is the dissemination of good practices and awareness of CSR among companies, institutions and society, as do FEAPS Laurel Awards Murcia since 1995.
