Thus, "the city of Murcia, in collaboration with the Autonomous Region and the municipalities of Alhama and Fuente Alamo, wants to present to Unesco an application for declaring the Biosphere Reserve of the Sierras and Campo de Murcia, to incorporate the natural areas of Murcia and its surrounding mountains. The application includes Carrascoy Regional Park and El Valle and two spaces that are part of the Natura 2000 European network: the Site of Community Importance (SCI) and Carrascoy Valley and Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) "Monte El Valle and saws and Escalona Altaona".
