The fourth edition of the film IBAFF fill the city of Murcia from 4 to 9 March (21/01/2013)

The fourth edition of the International Film Festival of Murcia IBAFF (Ibn Arabi Film Festival) will be held from 4 to 9 March 2013 and comes loaded with new features, making this a must for lovers of cinema in Murcia.

During the event, presented the poster IBAFF fourth edition, which is inspired by a work of photographer Juan de la Cruz Murcia to travel up the idea and creation, key principles of the contest.

In this edition, the festival's official selection, comprising a total of 30 films selected from over 300 entrants from 50 countries around the world, will be screened in full on Regional Film Archive, and is divided into four categories: feature film and documentary, awarded 3,000 and 2,000 euros respectively, and short fiction and documentary, with a prize of 1,000 each.

IBAFF Young Award, awarded by a jury consisting of students from secondary schools in the region to one of the short films (fiction or documentary), the Audience Award and Abbas Kiarostami Film Seminar, presented by the Iranian filmmaker, are other IBAFF award from 2013.

The list is completed with IBAFF Honorary Award, the highest award that recognizes the careers of filmmakers who embody the ideals of the festival (Travel and Creation) and in 2010, the year of birth of IBAFF, was awarded to Iranian director Majid Majidi followed by cinematographer Vittorio Storaro in 2011 and Abbas Kiarostami in 2012.

The Honorary Award 2013 will receive IBAFF filmmaker, screenwriter, playwright and actor Jean-Claude Carrière, one of the leading exponents of French surrealism, and great collaborator of Luis Buñuel.

The writers also "The Tin Drum" (1979), "The Return of Martin Guerre" (1982), "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" (1988), "Valmont" (1989), "Cyrano de Bergerac" (1990 ), "The Horseman on the Roof" (1995), "Goya's Ghosts" (1996), among others.

Carrière received the Order of Arts and Letters of the Spanish Government in July 2011.

Activities IBAFF 2013: The Abbas Kiarostami Film Seminar, First International School of Film and Filmmakers Meeting

Under the International Film festival IBAFF Murcia, will develop different activities.

One of them is led by director and poet Abbas Kiarostami, who will give a new film course for 50 students from around the world.

Another popular activity responds to this edition IBAFF bet.

The First International Film School, to be held at Caja Mediterráneo on 7, 8 and 9 March, is coordinated by Dominican filmmaker who was director of the Cuba Film School in 2007, Tanya Valette.

Out of competition'll find sections like Film School, this time with a screening of titles of schools participating in the First International Film School: School of Cuba, the School of Cinema and Audiovisual de Catalunya ( ESCAC), Lodz School, Porto School and School of Geneva, the Honorary Award Retrospective this year, offering a selection in which he participated Jean-Claude Carrière, and Section Off, which will collect a selection of titles that have not entered into the main competition but have special importance for their worth thematic or stylistic.

Next to them, new ones arise: Filmmakers, which this year will bring together works by Jaime Rosales, Pedro Costa and Abbas Kiarostami, directors invited by the IBAFF 2013 Panorama Murcia, Murcia dedicated to filmmakers and production jobs Murcia; Selection IBAFF where pruning public enjoy titles that give character to the festival, among which we find this year's "Like Someone in Love", Abbas Kiarostami latest film, not yet released in our country.
