The Youth Council of Murcia participated in this event held for the first time, and was established by resolution of the Assembly of the Network of Youth Councils held last November in Zafra (Extremadura), to claim and publicly display the work of defending the interests of young people, promoting the participation and coordination of associations conducting the Youth Councils
The event, to be held simultaneously in twenty places throughout the state this Friday at 6 pm, coincides with the anniversary of the birth of Ruben Dario, author of "Youth, divine treasure".
The Youth Council of Murcia joins the initiative in Spain celebrate the "Day State Youth Local Councils", which for the first time will be held on Friday 18 January and will develop, among other locations in the Youth Space El Palmar, starting at 18 hours.
Last November, the meeting of the Network of Local Councils, held in Zafra (Extremadura), agreed to the establishment of this celebration to vindicate and defend the work of these bodies representing youth associations and advocacy youth.
Local Youth Councils are tools that, in the current situation, they become even more necessary to vindicate youth policies that address the needs and problems of youth.
Among other duties, the local youth councils serve youth partners of each municipality with the administration, as well as representing the interests of youth associations working in its scope.
Therefore, the Local Councils meeting in the assembly of the State Network, agreed this joint celebration to show this work to society, in a festive and positive, and share with your claim citizenship of the need to maintain and promote work of the councils and the associative youth and show solidarity with the youth of the various municipalities throughout Spain that they have seen their local councils in recent times.
In Murcia the ceremony will take place this Friday at 6 pm, in the Youth Space-Behind The Bodegas Palmar-Bernal, at the same time in other municipalities that have joined the initiative.
For this, each Local Council, together with its member organizations, has prepared an act which, through music, poetry, a meeting or parade, held this day of Local Councils, which aims to provide annual continuity to continue celebrating in coming years.
The date chosen for the celebration was on Friday 18 January to coincide with the anniversary of the birth of poet Rubén Darío, who in his "Song of Autumn in Spring" begins with the familiar phrase "Youth, divine treasure".
