Progress and Democracy Union in the city of Murcia, through their councilor Jose Antonio Sotomayor, criticizes the lack of adequate signage and the danger passed runners at various points in the latest edition of the San Silvestre, which took place on 31 December in the capital.
As the mayor said Sotomayor, several participants in the race have already contacted Murcia UPyD denouncing insecurity and lack of planning.
"We want to know if the City was aware of the security measures that race, and in the case of not being the organizer Consistory, what responsibility he has demanded the same."
There are also several videos uploaded by fans popular website YouTube under the name "San Silvestre Race Murcia" that collect the time when runners cross vehicles on the contrary, having to invade the sidewalks and side terraces the road.
UPyD Murcia has submitted a letter to the Councillor for Sports, Miguel Cascales, to respond to the full City Council on all these issues and also what steps will the Council in future editions of the San Silvestre.
