The Mare Nostrum Campus of Excellence, sponsored by the University of Murcia and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, has passed the evaluation of an international commission, which has highlighted especially their progress despite the financial difficulties it has had since its inception in 2010 .
This committee, appointed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, has analyzed the progress of the 23 projects selected Campus of International Excellence in 2009 and 2010 and has called the Mare Nostrum of "progress reasonably high".
The committee stressed the same strength as their active participation in international networks in education and research in the Mediterranean, such as the European Mediterranean University and the European University Institute in Florence.
Also noteworthy is the increase in dual degrees with foreign universities and successful participation in initiatives such as the Mediterranean Office for Youth and European Union programs Erasmus Mundus and Tempus, and the launch of international mobility and talent attraction .
The committee notes that the Campus Mare Nostrum has the potential to be a center of excellence in education, research and innovation in the Mediterranean area, contributing to the economic development of the Region of Murcia, provided support for the project remains in these difficult economic times.
