The Department of Safety and Human Resources, as every year, and in the days before Christmas and Epiphany, prepared a special security device in order to control the increasing traffic around major shopping centers in the city and ensure security parades and events among which that of Santa Claus, Christmas Fantasy, the San Silvestre Murciana and Three Kings.

So this plan is developed which collects the device prepared by the local police in Murcia regarding security and traffic control at Christmas.

To meet these objectives have the following personnel:

- 60 Traffic Managers Group, among motorists, who focus their road safety performance in dynamic care pathways and preferential flow agents, at fixed points of special interest to maintain the flow in them.

- On behalf of the Group of Barrios, 70 Agents, take care of the traffic on the same tasks that motorists but, this time, in ways not preferred in their areas.

The overall goal of all local police units will ensure urban mobility during the days of increased traffic volumes.

Local police have mobile units that focus their performance in preferential pathways with particular attention to:

- Regular and ease traffic on roads that are under construction, with special attention to the tram works.

- Avoid double rows of vehicles.

- Ensure that respect handicapped zones.

- Avoid stopping and parking in bus zones and taxis.

- Control of parking in the loading and unloading areas.

- Ensure that respect sidewalks and pedestrian areas.

However, despite the interest and efforts of the local police in achieving normal traffic, it would not be possible if it had not been developed with the support and cooperation of citizens, so they took the opportunity to appeal in that sense and give some simple tips:

- Forward if possible Christmas shopping, done by avoiding last days.

- Respect at all times directed by the traffic control agents.

- Use public transportation, pursuing a better traffic flow.

- Use the helmet on motorcycles and mopeds to minimize the severity of injuries in a crash.

- Use public parking, avoiding violations and traffic difficulties.

- Do not drink alcohol when driving and respect speed limits and other signs, increasing road safety.

Also in the General Traffic Plan for development of business in Christmas and Reyes 2012-2013 already given on Saturdays and holidays with open shops, will be increased by 34 agents.

Also prepared the Plan "Yellow Wave" which, depending on the intensity of circulation will traffic control points established sequentially, in which the driver will be looking agents continuously along its route, with the aim of providing maximum ease of vehicle movements.

Also, I developed a specific plan for traffic and Three Kings parade in highlighting the primary attention and cooperation to be provided to certain acts that impact on the traffic, such as:

SPECIFIC SAFETY PLAN

Since the dates of Christmas in a very noticeable increase in commercial activity in our city, producing large concentrations of people in relatively small areas, there is provided a specific security plan in order to increase security and normal life of society: by the local police, an enhanced service with uniformed patrols, who will develop the same for the commercial area of ​​the city, with special emphasis on the control of street trading and preventing violations of municipal regulations and other antisocial behaviors.

Special mention is made of the night of December 31 to January 1, in which the service will be strengthened in the Plaza de Santo Domingo from the point of view of traffic in the vicinity and the safety.

Also it will be present in the vicinity of the church of El Carmen on the occasion of the bells and lucky grapes are already traditional in that place.

This Specific Safety Plan are to allocate 50 policemen GESC (Public Safety Panel), complemented by the strength of District Police and Public Safety, who patrol assigned areas on foot.

The schedule of this plan will coincide with those of the business, covering every day, weekdays and holidays.

Weekdays:

Mornings from 10:00 to 14:00 hours.

Afternoon: from 16:30 to 21:30 hours.

Holidays:

Mornings from 10:00 to 15:00 hours.

Evenings: from 16:30 to 21:30 ..

Preferred areas are Plaza de Santo Domingo, Alfonso X the Wise and nearby, Silverware, Tatters and nearby, Gran Vía (Plaza Fuensanta and nearby) and Barrio El Carmen.
