The House unanimously approves demand respect for human rights of the Saharawi people (20/12/2012)

The whole Corporation has voted for a motion that seeks to require a just and peaceful solution to the decolonization process of the Sahrawi people.

Therefore, the Municipal People, the Municipal Socialist Group, IU and UPyD this motion has reaffirmed the solidarity and support of the council with the Saharawi people in their struggle for their legitimate rights.

They therefore urge the Government of Spain to continue to defend the UN peace plan for self-determination of the people.

Likewise, demand the implementation of the Settlement Plan of the United Nations and the African Union to the Western Sahara and the fulfillment of the Houston Accords.

Another agreement of this motion is to demand respect for human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara as well as free access to the occupied territories of observer delegations and media while asking the Security Council of the UN United and the International Community to take the measures necessary for the rapid implementation of the expanded mandate of MINURSO to ensure respect for human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

Therefore, the House has reaffirmed the Council's commitment in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid to the Sahrawi population that resists in appalling conditions in refugee camps in Tindouf.
