On Thursday December 20 will take place on public failure Vargas Llosa Novel Prize 2012 (19/12/2012)

The next day, December 20 will take place on public failure of the XVI edition of Vargas Llosa Novel Prize 2012.

The event will be held in the Graduate Hall School of Law at 10:30 hours, and during the same will also be presented the winning novel of the sixteenth edition.

Vargas Llosa Award 2012 have submitted a total of 159 novels, which represents an increase of 30 percent over the previous edition.

The works have come from 14 European countries, and Asian Americans, including Dubai, USA, Mexico, Argentina, France and Germany, as well as the 17 Spanish autonomous communities.

The jury this year was composed of Soledad Puértolas, Juancho Armas Marcelo, Germán Vega, Francisco José María Pozuelo and Florit.

In public failure will be present next day 20 the Rector of the University of Murcia José Antonio Cobacho; Manuel Bravo (Director General of the Foundation Virtual Library Miguel de Cervantes-Chair Vargas Llosa), Francisco Durán Florit (Chairman of the Award Committee Vargas Llosa Novel) and Antonio Rubira (Caja Mediterráneo).

Also introduce the novel won the sixteenth edition of the award Vargas Llosa: "Hendaye" by Mark Eymar Benedycto.

Born in Madrid in 1979, Eymar Benedycto resides in Paris, where she teaches Spanish language and culture at the University of Orléans and co-leading a writing workshop at the Instituto Cervantes.

Built on patterns of crime fiction, "Hendaye" is an intelligent reflection on the notions of identity and border and on the condition of the migrant and exile, dramatically torn between two worlds.
