A lecture attempts an approach to the project of European integration (05/11/2012)

The series, which will last a month, is organized by the Museum of the University of Murcia, and begins on Wednesday November 7

Offer five critical insights on Europe from a multidisciplinary perspective is the goal of the lecture series "Europe and its fractures," which starts on Wednesday, November 7 and runs through Dec. 5 at the Museum of the University of Murcia.

The talks begin at 19.30 hours.

The history, economics, philosophy and anthropology, the disciplines that will be behind every one of the lectures.

With them will try to investigate the past, present and future of a project that, half a century later, still under construction and which continue to pose many challenges.

Overcome the Cold War, with the fall of the Wall and the advent of perestroika in Russia, the European political agenda has changed dramatically, but the old fractures have been replaced by others: North-South imbalances, instability, economic crisis, identity disputes, European culture and values ​​... According to its creators, "The series 'Europe and its fractures' aims to provide a proper understanding of the lights and shadows of what we call Europe."

The cycle has Encarna address and Carmen Marín González Nicolás Martínez, from the Department of Modern History, Contemporary and Latin of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Murcia, and the coordination of José Miguel García Cano, director of the Museum of the UMU.

Will start on Wednesday November 7th conference don "1989. The year that changed the world", by Ricardo Martin Guard, University of Valladolid, to be followed by four other conferences, scheduled every Wednesday until 5 December.

They will be taught by professors from the University of Murcia, Complutense of Madrid and Roma Tre, Italy.

All lectures will start at 19.30 hours.
