The Councillor for Equality Policies and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, participated this morning, by the Women's Center of Santa Eulalia and the Association of Catholic Women Separated, in a theatrical tour and the Romea Theatre for the 150th anniversary opening.
Barquero stressed that these activities are in demand by women's groups, who actively participate in social and cultural life of the town.
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Romea, Murcia City Council has organized a series of dramatized tours that began yesterday and will end on Sunday October 28.
An actor, in the role of Julian Romea, is in charge of guiding visitors through the recesses of the theater, explaining the architecture and history-laden legends and stories of a building, which was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1862 .
Women who participated in the tour today have known the facade, the Hall of Mirrors, the stalls and the details of the magnificent paintings that adorn the curtain and the ceiling, among other things.
