Murcia Futuro launches competition to beautify International Sculpture Park Lift the future (15/10/2012)

The event, organized in collaboration with the Foundation Gabarrón provides a first prize of 24,000 euros.

The deadline for proposals will end at 12.00 the next day on December 21.

The top 50 projects will receive an honorary diploma and participate in an exhibition in Spain and another in the U.S.

The municipality of Murcia, through Murcia Futuro Foundation (FMF) and Gabarrón Foundation, have called for an international competition for monumental public sculpture sculptural and artistic development of future Levante Park Murcia City.

This call provides an opportunity for all international artists to exhibit their works and also win prizes.

All proposals must be sent to the FMF before December 21, 2012 at 12.00.

Participation in this Contest all Spanish and foreign artists, regardless of their place of residence.

The participation may be done individually or collectively, in the latter case designating the group representative.

Each of the persons participating team may submit up a proposal for the competition.

The works must be free of potentially hold rights to third parties.

The theme is open, but will have special meaning those that show a link with the history and culture of Murcia, both from a historical perspective and from the concept and philosophy of art, design and environment, which articulates the new park.

May be used for the design and execution of the monument techniques and materials that are considered most suitable to your requirements expressive, provided that they are resistant to the action of atmospheric agents to ensure durability (brass, copper, stone, iron, among others).

The jury will award the following prizes:

A first prize whose allocation will be € 24,000.

A second prize whose allocation will be 10,000 €.

A third prize, whose budget is 5000 €.

Two second prizes each worth € 3,000.

Of all the proposals accepted the jury will select the top fifty projects, which receive an honorary diploma certifying.

These works will participate in an exhibition in Spain and one in the U.S., all of them reflected in a book-catalog made for this purpose, which will each receive two copies of the selected.

Winning entries will be placed in areas designated for that purpose in the Levante Park project, in consensus with the artist and the FMF.
