Approved new contract specification for the feasibility study of the section that will link the tram with the Barrio del Carmen (10/10/2012)

Specifications for the procurement of 'Feasibility study of the connection of the existing tram line 1 from the Plaza Circular to Station El Carmen' has been amended and approved by the Governing Board today again after previously presented 16 companies but none met the requirements.

Thus, the technical committee that prepared this statement has determined that it was necessary to make some changes from the previous:

- The company that is awarded the drafting of the feasibility study may also direct the work to build the urban section.

- Companies will have to prove concurrent realization, in the last three years, other transport feasibility studies and mobility for a minimum of 450,000 euros (600,000 euros previously required)

- Responsible for the direction and coordination of work, the civil engineer, industrial engineer and lawyer specializing in administrative law, must provide proof of 5 years experience (previously ten) while the economist and environmental expert acoustic mapping experienced road or rail infrastructure will be required three years experience (previously five)

The budget set again at 150,000 euros and has a lead time of six months.

The successful bidder will be responsible for defining the layout and features of the new line that will connect Line 1 station with Carmen, through the Constitution Avenue and Gran Via as the Mobility Plan foresaw as the most suitable.

The feasibility study will establish in detail the layout of the urban section of the tram as well as technical and functional as the connection with line 1, stops, frequency, rearrangement of traffic and access to public and private parking.

It has also set the funding system to make this investment, and develop an economic-financial exploitation, besides the mandatory environmental impact study.

On the other hand, is open to the possibility that the square of Conde Gonzalez can opt for the tram runs through Paseo del Marqués de Corvera in both directions or to conduct a triangular route between Marquis de Corvera, Industry and Floridablanca street level and this to be resolved by the feasibility study.

Among other requirements, and in order for the study to be as thorough and complete, it requires companies submitted for this contest in the writing team included an official contract, a civil engineer, a mechanical engineer, a lawyer specialist and administrative law, an economist and an environmental expert, most of them with a minimum experience of ten years in relation to the contract.
