The Mayor, who attended the ceremony of laying the first stone, notably the achievement of the commitment to invest in education.
The new building is constructed by the CEIP Our Lady of Sorrows, which will be replaced once it becomes operational.
The Raal will have a new school in the next year, after the conclusion of the works have started today, and whose laying of the foundation stone was attended by the Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, along with the Minister of Education, Training and Employment Constantine Sotoca.
Also attended the ceremony were the President of the Municipal Board, Mariano Gonzalez, and the Councillor for Education, Lola Sanchez.
Chamber Mayor stressed the importance of maintaining the necessary investments to further improve the media directed to education and welfare of citizens.
The work begins today, with a budget of over 3 million, is fully funded by the Autonomous Community, while the City Council has given the land to build the equipment, with an area of ​​11,600 square meters.
With these assignments the Council aims to meet the needs of the school population in the kindergarten and primary levels of the municipality.
The new school will offer two educational lines, with six classrooms of children and 12 primary and will have capacity for 450 children.
The project will replace the old facilities of CEIP Our Lady of Sorrows, which have become obsolete, and replaced by this new building is constructed on a plot very close.
The building will occupy the ground floor, porches, sports fields, parks and more than 7,000 square meters of free zones.
The units have fully adapted for disabled access motoric.
The center will consist of three blocks, porches annexed by:
- Block C.
Child Education
- Block B: Primary and general administrative services
- Block A: multipurpose gymnasium and auxiliary facilities
