"While the City Council spends around 5,000 euros a day on a tram that goes to UCAM almost empty, the PP leaves many isolated districts" (03/10/2012)

Socialist spokesman, Pedro Lopez, warning about the low profitability of the branch of the tram to the UCAM.

"Dear that costs around 5,000 euros a day and takes just travelers," said Lopez, who has now found in situ in the absence of official data that the Socialist Group requested the PP last April and have yet to receive answer travelers shortages.

Thus, the PSOE spokesman, accompanied by volunteers and the headman of Javalí Viejo, José Francisco Navarro have counted, from 8.35 until 11.00, half of the 11 people who use this branch.

In fact, the Socialists have created a page on facebook Tram profitable?

since they are tracking the number of travelers detailed in order to demonstrate its low profitability.

It highlights López-bleeding-kilometer tram each cost us half a million a year (the branch that goes to the UCAM are 3.5 kilometers, so the total cost is € 1.75 million per year) and the PP does not extend this service to obtain a higher return to the villages of Old and The Ñora Javalí left a few kilometers and would serve nearly 7,000 people.

PSOE spokesman for the profitability of this means of transport has always been in question, taking into account that a work like the tram, which will cost at 360 million euros Murcia over 40 years, should have started with an itinerary that besides structuring the township, it sustainable socially, economically and environmentally.

In this sense, remember that the Socialist Group has always advocated the implementation of a path that would have given coverage to the south for being "a smart and ambitious tour" that would have been served as populated hamlets like El Palmar health and the city of San Ginés industrial estate.

Finally, Lopez requires the PP of La Glorieta that instead of cutting the lines to isolated hamlets and leaving many residents, the service eliminates the UCAM branch to operate only at peak times during the class period.

"It is only when some travelers are mounted and keep the rest of hours, weekends and holiday periods, is wasting money that we need to meet the needs of thousands of citizens from districts that have been isolated and self- Bus "
