The Governing Council of the University of Murcia approved the procedure for the evaluation of teachers (02/10/2012)

The Governing Council of the University of Murcia has approved the procedure for evaluating the teaching activity, which aims to improve the quality of undergraduate and masters degree programs offered by this institution.

Other objectives of the evaluation, as indicated in the approved document, are recognizing the importance of teaching in the range of activities undertaken by teachers, placing itself under evaluation practices used to promote internationally recognized promoting personal and professional teachers.

The model, presented by Professor Antonio López Cabanes, delegate of the Rector for Quality, includes four dimensions: planning for teaching, developing it, and results analysis and improvement.

It draws on what the document calls "excellent teacher", which is the planned properly, develop their teaching following the guidelines developed and implemented a methodology that facilitates learning and achieve results consistent with the objectives of the course as well to analyze their teaching and take action to improve and upgrade.

Sources of the self-assessment will be the teacher, the academic reports and survey results to which students respond.

The procedure adopted indicates that the evaluation will be carried out according to the plan approved by the relevant committee, "that will include all teachers of the University, grouped attending to their branches of knowledge, are evaluated over a period of four years, repeating cyclically assessment program. "
