The Circus Theatre will host on Monday, from 9.30 the Conference on Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity, organized by the Department of Social Welfare.
The event takes place in the framework of the European Year of Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity, coinciding with the International Day of Older Persons, as one of the main events that will be held within the lines of action marked the occasion of the European Year celebration.
The Circus Theatre will host more than 700 people, including professionals, students, businesses and various organizations and institutions in the municipality.
The main protagonists are the elderly, most members of the 76 Centres and associations over the municipality.
The conference will be opened by Mayor Miguel Angel House and the Councillor for Social Welfare and Health, Maruja Pelegrin.
During the seminar will present municipal resources aimed at older people and will feature IMSERSO while there will be two panel discussions:
The first one has the participation of users and users of different services and care programs such as Day Care Center, Coexistence between Generations, book clubs, Senior Centres, so that the interested parties / as to share their experiences.
In this same table will be granted recognition to two seniors, for their selfless dedication to the Social Centres for the Elderly of the municipality of Murcia.
The second of the tables will include the involvement of higher prestige in the area of ​​our municipality, such as active aging, which involves exposing their life stories.
Finally there will be a theatrical sketch and various musical performances by various groups Social Centres for the Elderly.
The workshops are presented as an opportunity to promote the exchange of experiences and good practices in relation to raising active aging and intergenerational solidarity and to report on municipal resources are developed, favoring the older feel heard, represented and protagonists of all the events planned.
