Progress and Democracy Union in the city of Murcia, through his spokesman Ruben Juan Serna, presented an initiative asking the government team that moves to the Township Neighborhood proposal that any street, square or civic center receives the name Oswaldo Paya.

Serna explains, "is a small gesture that we need, both as a tribute and solidarity with the Cuban people and to remind the public of the need to support a free Cuba dictatorship."

As known and public, the democratic opposition leader Oswaldo Paya Cuban in Cuba this summer died in a car accident.

Progress and Democracy Union has maintained since its founding a firm commitment to the cause of freedom in Cuba, and especially with the now defunct political leader, who supported him and his Christian Movement for the Liberation, and it will continue to support until Cubans regain political freedom.

To Serna, Oswaldo Paya's death is a blow to all those who want a democratic future for Cuba.

"At this time of economic and political crises," continued the mayor, Paya struggle "reminds us all that you can always do something, even under much tougher" than those living in Spain at the moment .

As its Oswaldo Paya said 'dictatorships are neither right nor left, are dictatorships', "and dictatorship is literally the Cuban" said Ruben Juan Serna.

Andrei Sakharov Prize for human rights by the European Parliament in 2002 and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, "we believe it is a symbolic but effective way to continue to support the struggle for freedom in the island of Cuba" and prevent them from falling into oblivion which daily work for it.

"Having in mind his name to a street or square or civic center, where possible, get the name of Oswaldo Paya, would be a small gesture of solidarity by the Consistory democratic through the Neighborhood with all Cubans" which serve to enliven the memory of the public the need to support a free Cuba dictatorship ends Serna.
