The Government Office has announced that the next vehicle caravan manifestations of the unions in the city of Murcia (SIME, CCOO, ATABAM-SPLRM, CSI-CSIF and UGT) are conducted using a single lane, the farthest to the left according to the direction of travel.
This decision was prompted by the request of the City of Murcia to reconcile the right of assembly and demonstration with the rights of other citizens and the normal functioning of the activities of the city.
In this regard, the Security Councillor and Human Resources, Nuria Fuentes, has indicated that such demonstrations have affected and hospital emergency services and public transport.
In fact, motorcades featuring unions have hindered access to hospitals near the route of the procession, and Reina Sofía Morales Meseguer, have caused delays of between 40 and 60 minutes in 30 Latbus bus lines, have caused delays in the path of the tram and caused the citizens call to 092 complaining of withholding and reporting traffic problems.
The City Council welcomes and congratulates the Government Office because this measure guarantees the right of all citizens of the town, the demonstrators to express themselves and other neighbors to move freely around the city.
The next caravans provided by unions will be held on Thursday, from 19:30 to 21:30 hours, and the 27th of September, from 9.30 to 11.30.
