More than 60 professionals ensure the protection of the natural environment on the occasion of the pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Fuensanta (10/09/2012)

The Ministry of the Presidency, through the Directorate General for the Environment, will launch a special device more than 60 people to prevent forest fires and ensure the preservation of the natural environment in the Valley Regional Park and Carrascoy, coinciding with the celebration Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Fuensanta.

The operation, which will begin this afternoon at 16:00 and end on Wednesday, September 12, at 20:30 pm, will consist of environmental agents, forest brigades, visitor information services, maintenance and cleaning.

The staff and means will be coordinated by the Meteorology and Transmission Unit (UMMT), which will provide the location of the same signal in the area through Global Positioning System (GPS) and, in addition, will have the Unified Command Post, located in the esplanade near the Shrine of Our Lady of Fuensanta.

Two heads of county Corps Environmental Agents will be responsible for transmitting instructions to four Rapid Intervention Brigade (BIR), a 4x4 vehicle equipped with 400 liters of water and three pawns specialists in fire fighting each Intervention Brigade Fast.

Also mobilized two brigades of Forest Fire (BRIFOR), equipped with a truck and two cars, 4x4, 12 men formed by specialists in fire fighting.

A total of 20 environmental agents belonging to the regions of Fortuna, Abarán and El Valle and special brigades Environmental Agents Corps tour the different areas to inform citizens and avoid actions that may pose a fire hazard.

The Visitor Centre 'The Valley' will also feature a special schedule, opening its doors from 8:30 to 15:00.

Also placed additional Information Point at the intersection of Los Teatinos to promote respectful attitudes to the environment and waste collection.

This action will complete the campaign 'The Valley no trash can' that is taking place this year regarding the problem of waste in the Regional Park, being the day of the pilgrimage of the Fuensanta one of the highlights of the influx of people to the environment.

Furthermore, four maintenance and cleaning equipment will meet the immediate needs that may arise in the area of ​​El Valle Regional Park and Carrascoy, and kept clean hits on the most visited.
