The City of Murcia and technology innovation in energy outdoor lighting (27/07/2012)

The Agency for Energy and Climate Change of the City of Murcia (GER), which depends on the council of the Environment, directed Adela Martinez-Cachá, launched a tender for a study on new exterior lighting technologies, in line with the patterns effective and efficient governing cities of the future.

This study assessed mainly aspects of saving and energy efficiency.

Climate Change and the City of Murcia is involved in this initiative EnerAgen, which will create a document that will explore the different lighting technologies available in the

today and that will be useful to all municipalities.

The final document will be useful to all members of EnerAgen cities, Spanish Agencies Association of Energy Management.

The company is made with the assistance, the call will last until August 27 - The review of the current situation

lighting technologies, both in Spain and abroad, and

best practices implemented to date in any city.

Among these technologies are the innovative lighting

LED lights, or the traditional sodium vapor and metal halide improved efficiency.

It has also been considerable progress in

regulation and control of lighting and remote management, intelligent and

sustainable urban lighting.

All this and much more will be collected in this study whose technical specifications and administrative can be downloaded via the web ALEM: www.energiamurcia.es listing all conditions, guidelines to follow in the presentations and deadlines.

This study adds to the newly promoted and published by GER,

entitled "Study on the current status and progress of advanced technologies in Smartcities", which will define the requirements should

meet an intelligent city in order to be considered as such, what

services has to offer, how to finance or how to integrate

infrastructure deployed in the field of energy efficiency.

Similarly, the study "Smart Cities" with a deadline for receipt of bids is July 31, will be accompanied by a second job in which

develop guidance on the definition, design and implementation of a

Smart City performance for a municipality.

It will be a "roadmap" to set energy efficiency criteria in the hiring of local councils.
