More than 400 government employees protesting against the city of Murcia against cuts (26/07/2012)

More than 400 public employees have made this morning a concentration in front of City Hall to protest against cuts and against the imposition by the consistory of other measures that go beyond the planned cuts in the Royal Decree 20/2012.

The concentration, which has passed peacefully, has had a large number of staff from different services such as police, firefighters and administrative staff, and developed between 10:30 and 12:00 am, ending with the full assistance that was being held at the town hall, which were to approve such measures.

The unions represented in the city of Murcia (SIME, CCOO, SPLRM-ATABAM-, UGT and CSI-CSIF) do not understand the need to implement additional measures as the City continues its policy of squandering public money (subsidy UCAM € 600,000, grant from Terra Natura, transfer of public lands to private companies, consultants, official cars, bodyguards, per diem for attendance at plenary sessions and commissions, dilapidated tram and etc) and while announcing with fanfare that the City last year was a surplus of 40 million euros.

Also at the Board of Governors on Wednesday was unilaterally approved the application of the day of 37.5 hours.

and schedules resulting from this expansion.

Unlike what happened in other municipalities, like that of Molina de Segura, where the government team has opted for a less burdensome application as possible for their public employees, in the case of the City of Murcia, not only increases the computation time but also reduces the number of rest days per week of different services such as Local Police, Fire, Squares and Markets, Culture, Libraries, Sports, etc.

With this focus we aim to stand up not only the specific measures taken by the City but to all citizens assaults under the Royal Decree 20/2012.

We have sent several colleagues from the Local Police Service since been told verbally that if the Councillor for Security and Human Resources Police sees manifested on Thursday plan to eliminate the supplement (CRJ) which is on average around € 200.

During the month of September will be intensified protests by unions conducting these caravans of cars and other actions to be determined.

During the rally the unions have read a manifesto protesting the harsh measures that we intend to impose on all citizens.
