IU-Green believes the government will force the City to cut more public services (19/07/2012)

The IU-Green spokesman in the city of Murcia, Esther Herguedas, believes the central government will force the consistories to launch new settings that will affect public services.

Herguedas has made these statements at the extraordinary plenary session held today, which has signed a loan of more than 2.5 million for payments to suppliers, which would join the more than 39 already approved in the plenary session in June .

IU-Green abstained from this proposition, to express support for the collection of amounts owed to suppliers and at the same time, express their misgivings by the commitments "that contract and are not explained."

"With these loans, assume obligations not only financial but also political obligations," said the mayor, expressing confidence that the government will not require additional adjustment measures to those already adopted by the City, as the government set this chance in the conditions for local authorities requesting the loan in the event that they do not meet certain goals of a balanced budget.

"Taking this loan involves a series of obligations that are not clearly spelled out, leaving the door open to further cuts in basic public services such as health, education or culture. Himself proposal to amend the current Rules of the Law on Local The Government is working points in this direction and confirm these threats, "she added Herguedas in plenary.
