The Governing Council has authorized the appointment of Jose Manuel Martinez Martinez as a member of the Board of the University of Murcia, representing the economic interests of the Region of Murcia.

Martinez replaces the vacancy caused by the termination on request of John Bernal Roldán, prior to its incorporation as Minister of Economy and Finance of the Community.

Jose Manuel Martinez, Murcia (1947), is a technical engineer of Public Works and a degree in Economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

He was president of Mapfre from 2001 to 2012 and Mapfre Foundation between 2005 and 2011.

He is president of the Institute of Social Action Foundation Mapfre.
