Homage to the 1812 Constitution in a course at the University of the Sea (12/07/2012)

Cehegín will host between 17 and 20 July, the "IV course. Gender and public policy."

According to its makers, this new edition "intend to pay tribute to the Constitution of 1812 'La Pepa', not so much because women occupy a central role in it, because the opposite happened, but because it is the point of departure of many of the values, principles and public institutions that persist today, and whose introduction into the legal, social and economic development, put Spain at the time in a privileged and very advanced. "

The aim of this edition is to analyze public policies that start at that first Constitution, the situation where they are and how they could do more gender inclusive.

Encompassed in the programming of the International University Campus Mar-Mare Nostrum, collaborate during the Regional Assembly of Murcia, the Real Academia Alfonso X the Wise and the Institute for Women and will be held at the Library of Municipal Archaeological Mueso Cehegín.

The course is directed by professors at the University of Murcia Gloria Alarcon Garcia and Elena Quiñones Vidal, and includes among its participants to teachers from the universities of Murcia, Complutense, Jaume I, Barcelona Autonomous UNED and Pablo Olavide of Seville, as responsible for several administrations and regional deputies.

The activity includes the exhibition "The deputies from Murcia in the Cortes of Cadiz. The Region of Murcia and the Constitution of 1812" and the presentation of the book of the same title, the work of Pascual Vera.
