More than 400 seats at the Centers for Reconciling work and family life during the summer (11/07/2012)

The City of Murcia offers over 400 places for children aged 0 to 16 years participating in the Summer Schools Centers Reconciling work and family life.

It aims to offer an alternative to meet the smallest in summer when the school year ended, and while the parents continue their work day.

The Councillor for Health and Social Welfare, María del Carmen Pelegrin, and the Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sanchez, this morning visited the Summer School and Center for Integrated Children Reconciling Work and Family Life of Juan Carlos I, for see first hand the activities.

The purpose of the Centers for Reconciling Work and Family Life is that working parents have a public resource where children can be cared for according to the principles of Law 39/99 of November 5, Life Settlement Family and Labour of working people.

These centers organize summer schools during the months of July and August, to develop a specific program of socio-educational, non-formal and marked playful character.

It thus also contributes to professional development for parents, and promotes equality of opportunity between men and women.

The objectives are:

- To facilitate the reconciliation of work and family during school holidays.

- Provide a schedule that facilitates socio leisure and recreation and play activities necessary for children during summer vacation.

- To foster a climate of cooperation that fosters relationships, generating attitudes and values ​​of respect and tolerance and generalizing behaviors consistent with these values ​​and attitudes.

- Enhance social skills and autonomy of the participating children.

Among the activities carried out are support and tutoring, workshops, crafts, sports and water games.

There are still vacancies.

The centers are: Center for Integrated Children's Juan Carlos I, Center for Reconciling Work and Family Life Bacons Bridge, The Granaos (The Bojal) Azahar (The Nora), Artillery Barracks, Churra and EMPI (James the Mayor).
