150 Saharawi children pass medical examinations at the University of Murcia (10/07/2012)

The University of Murcia performed these days dental and eye checks to 150 Saharawi children who spend the summer months in the Region of Murcia in the joint exchange program "Holidays in Peace."

The program allows children to be absent during the months of July and August the refugee camps where they live: Laayoune, Auserd, Smara and Dakhla, in the province of Tindouf.

The children examined at the University of Murcia come mostly from the camp of Dakhla, the four, the poorest and most remote from civilization.

In the University Clinic of Integral Vision (Cuvi) University graduates are the vision and are asked a fundus examination to rule out possible pathologies, such as "lazy eye" or "pterygium" which are the most common in them.

Are also being conducted dental examinations in the University Dental Clinic, located in the Hospital Morales Meseguer.

After revisions, are subject to the treatment they need and that they avoid the pain until the following summer.

Morales Meseguer Hospital has welcomed today, day 10, the act of reception children, who has attended the University Rector, José Antonio Cobacho.
