55 schools in the municipality contains a total of 74 summer schools (05/07/2012)

55 schools (54 public and a concerted) host this summer 74 summer schools organized by the Municipality of Murcia services, AMPAS and other associations.

Over 3,000 children participate in these activities.

The Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sanchez, this morning visited the school premises Nuestra Señora de Atocha, which made small workshops, sports and activities.

The Department of Education has provided facilities to groups of schools, Primary and Special schools holding summer.

In some cases a single summer school welcomes children from various schools in the area.

In addition, Education is responsible for cleaning and monitoring of assigned spaces, and the provision of Janitorial, in some schools.

This year we have organized:

- 43 Summer Schools organized by AMPAS in 30 schools (one of which shares runways with Social Services);

- 26 Summer Schools organized by the Municipality of Murcia services in 25 centers, of which:

* 20 for Social Services (shares space with the AMPA Arboleja with Social Welfare and the Association Columbares).

* 1 for Social Welfare (shares space with Social Services).

* 4 for Cultural Centers

* 1 Urban Plan-European Programmes (shares space with Social Services)

- 1 Summer School organized by The Municipal Board Martínez del Puerto, in 1 center.

Summer School -1 7 centers organized by the Neighborhood Association Bacons Bridge (the use of schools for the purpose of summer schools in this parish is a rotating basis over the years and this summer it is up to San Lorenzo school that welcomes pupils of all schools of Bacons Bridge).

-3 Summer Schools organized by NGOs, in 2 centers:

* 2 by the Gypsy Secretariat (the students in two districts share facilities on alternate days, Narciso Yepes CEIP).

* 1 by the Association Columbares (shares space with Social Services).

The aim is that AMPAS schools and other groups organize together to save costs, optimize resources (security, cleaning, etc..), Foster relationships between children from the same area but not attending the same school, the centers offer alternatives that can not be used because there is work to improve the planning of summer schools since increasing participation are more profitable.

The centers use the same area by several associations or groups, has led to open 19 schools less than if it were made individually.
