The opening of the full Senate Science Park facilities on the campus of Espinardo (03/07/2012)

The inauguration this morning, the Senate Murcia Science Park can quadruple the capacity for companies and research organizations, making it feasible to target this infrastructure, set to become a stimulus for research and development of Murcia, and increasing technological advancement, scientific impulse, business competitiveness and improved quality of life of citizens.

The ceremony was presided by the President of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, and has been attended by the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, the Minister for Universities and Research Company, José Ballesta, and the Rector of the University of Murcia, Jose Antonio Cobacho.

The commissioning of these two buildings on the campus of Espinardo, which add to its supercomputing center Ben Arabi in operation since 2009 - an investment of eight million.

The park is well composed by three buildings totaling 6,507 m2, of which over 4,000 are offered to companies to be installed there.

In addition to the space reserved for the installation of SMEs, have meeting rooms, auditorium and common services.

The Science Park, established in 2007, is an area of ​​excellence for the development and synergy between university, business and administration, by the ratio of R + D + i, favoring the development, competitiveness and economic progress , cultural and social development of the Region.

Growth in Guadeloupe

From now on, the expansion of the Science Park will take place on land located in Guadalupe covering an area of ​​400,000 square meters and whose assignment by the City Council was held last year.

The initial approach in Guadeloupe with facilities is flexible and adaptable to the space requirements of any company, from buildings to act as preincubadoras of SMEs, ie to house entrepreneurial initiatives that are being developed and need only a small office space, up parcels of 20,000 square meters for industrial projects based on R + D + i.

Technology companies that will host the Science Park development in Guadeloupe are preferably related to biotechnology, biology, environment, renewable energy industries such as Tic's, fine chemicals or pharmaceuticals.
